Pakistan v South Africa

Edgbaston, Birmingham

Here they are again – Pakistan at Edgbaston and some ferocious support

If you are South African, Birmingham will have some particularly bad memories – who can forget their dramatic defeat in the 1999 World Cup against Australia?

But times change and the Proteas are equipped to win the tournament. Skippered by perhaps the greatest all-round player in the world in AB de Villiers, who is backed up by the wonderful natural flair of David Miller, Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock, the Boks are almost always guaranteed enough runs to create a contest.

And then they have Kagiso Rabada – perhaps the find of the last two years with the new ball – and of course Dale Steyn, a man with thunder in his hands.

Pakistan will need all their skill and courage in this one, the mastery of the old genius Younis Khan and the experience of Shoaib Malik and Mahommad Hafeez if they are going to mount a strong attack on the South Africans.

One thing you can be rest assured of, is monumental support from the Birmingham public so if you want to join them, guarantee your place with one of our packages.
