New Zealand v Bangladesh

Cardiff, Wales

On paper this only has a New Zealand win against its name

The Black Caps are one of the most complete units in the world right now – destructive batting mixed with quality seam bowling with a touch of spin.

Kane Williamson leads them well, scores a truck-load of runs and allows the free-spirited Martin Guptill free reign at the top of the innings, while Ross Taylor and Corey Anderson make hay towards the end of the innings.

But perhaps the most important component is left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner – he takes wickets, keeps it tight and is a brilliant variation. But don’t rule Bangladesh out – if they bat first and their top order players get them off to a racing start, a competitive total may just inspire the confidence of an upset. But it will take some doing.
