The Oval, London
Both are far more at home in their own countries but equally both will be inspired by the speed and bounce of an Oval wicket that just attracts great cricket. India, under the guidance of their brilliant batsman Virat Kohli, are keen to dispel that theory and have all the ability to make it happen.
Their strength is their batting – Kohli, MS Dhoni, Yadav, Yuvraj – the list is endless and they will have the ability to bat teams out of games. This could be a fire-cracker of a contest – the support will be loud, passionate and colourful and if both teams fire, could create a mini masterpiece. Mathews will need all his cunning and guile to get the better of the contest – but he will know it will take just one innings of a magic spell from Malinga to make it possible.
