Cricket World Cup 2019 – where do you begin? This tournament gave us many extraordinary memories. From Ben Stokes’ incredible one-handed boundary catch in the opening match, to Shami’s dramatic final over hat-trick to deny Afghanistan a famous victory.

England and Wales played host for the fifth time and ICC Travel & Tours provided fans with ticket and hotel packages which enabled cricket lovers to make the most of their Cricket World Cup 2019 experience.

While many expected Cricket World Cup 2019 to be dominated by big hitting, we actually saw a more even battle between bat and ball. 250 often became a par score which led to high pressure run chases, allowing both batsman and bowlers alike to make their mark.

The match of the tournament was saved for the final. Arguably the most exciting ending in cricket history, the two sides couldn’t be separated and were tied after 50 overs. England went on to set New Zealand an intimidating target of 16 from their super over. The Kiwi’s fell agonisingly short as Martin Guptill was run out attempting a second run from the last ball which would have won New Zealand the World Cup. England won the final on the boundary countback rule (26-17). The most extraordinary finish to a Cricket World Cup final.

This really was an exceptional World Cup – in terms of competitiveness, ability and of course drama.
